Data Search for Consultants
Desk Study Service for Data Searches
For nearly twenty years Scottish Badgers has been collating badger records and we currently hold over 15,000 records of road kills and nearly 10,000 other records relating to setts and live sightings from around Scotland. Although this information is highly sensitive and therefore is not widely disseminated, we do provide a data search service where, after vetting, this information can be passed on to interested parties who have an appropriate need to know about the presence of badgers in a particular area.
Applicants should be aware that there is a basic £100 administration fee chargeable whether data is found or not. This would cover a search of a single national grid square plus a 1 kilometre buffer around that square. A search with a 2 kilometre buffer would be £200 and one with a 3 kilometre buffer £300. We can carry out larger data searches and are happy to quote a fee for doing so on a case by case basis.
