Scottish Badger Week 2020 - Day 8 A Year in the Life...

Posted on

As we fast approach the end of our eventful week, today we look at the life of a badger clan in a year. Badgers like many species, will utilise the seasons as best as possible, with a real focus on feeding in spring and autumn, and during the winter reducing their activity as they enter into a torpor. The females experience embryonic diapause; mating over the spring, but not getting pregnant until the winter, ensuring cubs born coincide with food abundance.

Head over to our Facebook and Twitter today, where we'll be posting more factoids and videos throughout the day!
